This is barely a game, but you can win and lose. This was my first game jam, first roguelike, and frankly my first "finished" game.

Thank you for checking it out!

I may add to it after the jam because I spent a lot of time on the engine.

Sprites from Kenney's 1-Bit Pack (most were modified)

Thank you to those who encouraged me, and to everyone who plays this!

My special gratitude to Fritzy for leading me to participate in this jam, which was my first ever game jam. Fritzy made an awesome library that I used for this game, and they're just an all-around helpful and kind person!

Really satisfying graphics!!! Love interesting terrain features, and the postmortem was really interesting to read.

I didn’t expect anyone to actually read through my long rambling post ;) Thank you for that and for the kind words!

What a delightful thing the grinding mechanic is!! Don't be down on yourself--you absolutely nailed your main concept, so that's a win in my book!

Thank you!!!

Grinding skeletons is a very satisfying activity! Well done. :)

The controls work immediately (the mini-tutorial works nicely). The atmosphere is simple and effective with a nice color scheme. And the game mechanics is quite fun.

With some more content, a few well though puzzle-levels and some polish (music and sound effects in particular would go a long way), it would make a great puzzle-rogue-like.

Thank you!!! I was feeling pretty down on myself about the lack of content so your pointing out the things it does have means so much to me. And you gave me more reason to expand on this in the future. Thank you!

This is a perfect game jam game, it's short and fun, super cool! I would love to see this expanded on a bit with items and new enemies or something like that.

Also ape ecs looks like a nice library, I'll have to try it out in a game soon

Wow, thank you so much! I really didn’t expect anyone to say something so nice about this.

I totally agree, there’s a lot I want to add to this, since it’s really a husk of a game!
